About me

I came to photography late, at the age of 41 in 2003, when I acquired a Canon EOS 10d. Up until this point in my life I was a sporadic ‘point and shoot’ photo taker. My Canon DSLR was not a planned acquisition and I had to make the decision to learn how to use it properly or let it gather dust in a cupboard. I decided on the former and set about reading as much as I could and taking as many photographs as possible, most of which were consigned to the bin. However things did improve, aided by Experience Seminars courses and even more reading, and now the number of discarded photos is starting to decline.

In September 2005 I was asked to take the match photographs for our local British Basketball League Team and with that came responsibility that I had not had before. Now I had to produce something that people would want to see. More reading, more courses, more equipment purchased. A very steep learning curve ensued but that turned into a blessing and I have gained a lot from this dive into the deep end.

I am lucky to live in a beautiful part of the world, South Devon, and to be so close to such an abundance of photogenic places. Taking advantage of this has meant dragging my husband, and sometimes my daughters out with me on photographic forays. I am eternally grateful to them for their support as without them none of this would be possible.

I thank you for taking the time to look at my site. Please would you be so kind as to leave a message via the 'contact me' page and let me know what you think. Any advice would be very much appreciated.
